Advayamati was born in London and lived there until he moved to Colchester at the beginning of 2000. He first got involved in Buddhist practice at the London Buddhist Centre in 1990 and was ordained as Advayamati in 2001.

He studied Religious Studies and Philosophy at various universities, where he developed a keen interest in Buddhism and Taoism, and gained an MA in Eastern Religions and Philosophies.

Advayamati’s main spiritual focus is meditation and the communication of the Dharma (Buddhist teachings). He has a particular interest in communication, body/ energy work and the Dharma as tools for personal growth, integration and development of compassion towards others.

He is also a qualified Shiatsu practitioner and is developing a Shiatsu practice in Ipswich and Colchester. He studied several Martial Arts for six years and is starting a course in counselling this year (2004) - he has a son aged six who is one of his main teachers (beginners mind)!
