Portrait of Dayasara

Dayasara

Dayasasa is originally from Yorkshire. He started his involvement with Buddhism in 1990 at the Colchester Buddhist Centre, and has been living in a Buddhist community in Ipswich since 1995. He was ordained as Dayasara in Summer 2001, on the same ordination retreat as Gunasara.

Dayasara's career has been concerned with care work, both 'doing' and teaching, and he has a professional interest in mental health issues. He sees this as being very compatible with Buddhist practice and is promoting a vision of care work performed by teams of Buddhists.

Dayasara's leisure interests include literature (reading, writing and reflecting upon) and music.

Dayasara regards friendship as a key area of his Buddhist practice and this will certainly be evident to you when you meet him - as will his remarkable memory.
