Us backroom boys usually like to keep a low profile, but at the insistence of the FWBO (Ipswich) Council, here's a profile of Paul - the Centre Treasurer and Webmaster.
Paul was born and brought up near St. Albans, went to the University of Manchester and spent 14 years working in Sheffield before moving to Ipswich in 1991. He started attending meditation classes run by the then Ipswich Buddhist Group in 1995 and quickly became a 'regular'. Inspired by what the Centre was offering to people in Ipswich, he began providing administrative support to its activities; first on the financial side (eventually becoming Centre Treasurer); and later with publicity, creating and maintaining this website.
Paul's spiritual practice for the past few years has been driven by training to become a Shiatsu practitioner. More recently, he has found much inspiration in chanting and voice work.
Paul is kept pretty busy with three jobs: Shiatsu practitioner and Centre Treasurer/Webmaster already mentioned, and contract ICT consulting. He has a grown-up daughter, and likes to grow exotic plants such as orchids and lilies.
