Ipswich Buddhist Centre - an FWBO Centre

Terms and conditions

Participants in the Centre's activities generally move towards a relationship of mutual generosity with the Centre, in which terms and conditions cease to be relevant. However, the following terms and conditions do apply to our fee-based activities.

General

Fees All fees quoted are per participant.

Availability Class sizes are limited and so places in classes and on courses are offered subject to availability.

Booking We require a deposit of £10 in advance (or the full fee in advance) to reserve a place on a course. We will not reserve a place on a course until we receive this payment.

Payment of fees Any fee due is payable in full before the start of the course, block or event to which it applies.

Cancellation If a participant needs to cancel a booking, FWBO (Ipswich) will refund in full any payment made provided that we are notified more than seven days before the start of the the course, block or event that was booked. If less notice is given, FWBO (Ipswich) will retain £10 from any fee paid.

Transfer of booking Before the start of a course or block (but not after), participants may transfer a booking to another course or block at no additional charge.

Absence Once a course or block has started, no refund or credit will be given if participants miss all or part of a course.

Concessions Concessionary rates may be available to students, low- or un-waged, and employees of FWBO Right Livelihood businesses. Please enquire at the time of booking.

Provision of classes Although FWBO (Ipswich) will make every effort to provide the classes listed in its publicity (including this website), we cannot guarantee that these classes will be provided at the stated times or at all. Our liability in case of failure to provide a class will be limited to a pro-rata refund of any fee paid or provision of a free class in lieu.

Class leaders Published information regarding class leaders is indicative only and FWBO (Ipswich) reserves the right to substitute class leaders without notice.

Admission FWBO (Ipswich) reserves the right to refuse admission to any of its classes or events.

Meditation and Buddhism

Part-course bookings Courses are provided as whole units. No reduction in the course fee is made if a participant knows at the time of booking that they cannot attend part of the course.

Weekend Part I courses At least six participants are needed to make these courses viable and so these courses may be cancelled at short notice, with full refund of any fee paid, if we receive too few bookings.

Results Spiritual practice and development are matters of personal responsibility and personal effort. Although FWBO (Ipswich) believes that the spiritual practices taught in our Meditation and Buddhism classes have a positive and beneficial effect for the vast majority of people, we cannot guarantee that this will be the case for everyone. Neither can we guarantee that a participant will achieve any specific objective as a result of attending these classes.
